About the Federation
The Billiards Federation of the Autonomous Republic of Ajara was established on July 26, 1996. The purpose of its creation was to develop and promote billiards sports in the autonomous republic and to prepare national teams for participation in both national and international tournaments.
For two decades after its founding, the federation's activities mainly consisted of athlete participation in local and national championships and organizing republic-wide and international tournaments in Batumi.
Since 2012, after the re-establishment of the federation, activities have become more active. Members of the Ajarian national team have participated in almost all European and World Championships as well as international tournaments. Moreover, the federation organized European Championships in Free Pyramid twice (in 2014 and 2024). Between 2013 and 2022, it held six international tournaments called "Ajara Open," and in 2019, the international "Friendship Cup" tournament, which featured top billiards players from 17 countries.
Since 2023, we have started organizing the international "Ajara Cup" tournament in pool under the aegis of EEBC. From 2025, this tournament has gained the "Best of East" category.
